The Code Enforcement Division of Paden City is committed to maintaining the safety, health, and aesthetic standards of our community by enforcing the city’s building and zoning codes. Our goal is to ensure that all properties, both residential and commercial, meet the requirements set forth by the International Property Maintenance Code, the Codified Ordinances of Paden City, and the Zoning Code. Major Responsibilities
1. Code Enforcement
- International Property Maintenance Code: We enforce the provisions of this code to ensure that all properties are kept in a safe, sanitary, and structurally sound condition.
- City Ordinances: The division upholds the standards set by the Codified Ordinances of Paden City, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Zoning Code: We enforce zoning regulations to maintain the orderly development and use of land within the city.
2. Inspections and Investigations
- The division conducts thorough inspections and investigations of properties to ensure compliance with city codes. This includes responding to complaints, identifying code violations, and taking appropriate action to resolve issues.
3. Legal Proceedings
- In cases of non-compliance, we initiate legal proceedings against code violators. This may include issuing citations, filing court cases, or working with property owners to rectify violations.
4. Consultation on Code Requirements
- Our team provides consultation to property owners, contractors, and the general public regarding code requirements. We aim to educate and assist in understanding and meeting the standards set by the city.
5. Public Records Requests
- The division responds to written public records requests, providing transparency and access to information related to code enforcement activities.
