Evelynn Hatcher, a student at Paden City High School and a member of the OVAC All-Star Marching Band, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship during halftime of the OVAC All-Star Football Game on Saturday, July 19, at Wheeling Island Stadium.
The scholarship was made possible through the support of Ohio Valley McDonald’s owner-operators, who have proudly supported the OVAC All-Star Marching Band for more than four decades. Funds for the scholarship were raised during a Digital Fundraiser Day held on April 25, with each participating McDonald’s location contributing toward the total.
The OVAC All-Star Marching Band is composed of talented student musicians from schools across southeastern Ohio and northern West Virginia and performs annually during halftime of the OVAC All-Star Football Game.
Local McDonald’s representatives joined Evelynn on the field for the scholarship presentation, celebrating her achievement alongside band supporters and community members. The scholarship recognizes the dedication and hard work of young musicians whose talents contribute to the region’s rich tradition of music and education.
