Paden City is getting ready for a festive three-day Labor Day weekend as the community prepares to celebrate the 77th Annual Labor Day Celebration. The event will feature a wide variety of activities, including carnival rides, inflatables, car shows, live music, and one of the most anticipated parades in the region.
Co-chairman B.B. Smith describes the celebration as one of the largest Labor Day events in West Virginia, highlighting the strong sense of tradition and community pride that has carried the event forward for more than seven decades.
The celebration will take place from Saturday, August 30 through Monday, September 1, with events scheduled throughout the weekend:
- Car Show at Valley Church: Saturday, August 30, from 12:00–2:00 PM
- Cornhole Tournament: Sunday, August 31
- Labor Day Parade: Monday, September 1 at 1:00 PM (lineup begins at 12:00 PM)
- Rides, inflatables, and live music: Begin Monday at 2:00 PM
